King Elementary Family Math Night & Fall Festival a Huge Success!
Over 500 students, parents and community
members attended King Elementary’s Family Math Night and Fall Festival
on Friday, October 30, 2009. This year’s theme was “The Math Wiz –
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to Success.” The event was the grand
finale to an entire month of math related events and activities that
included a pep rally, projects, competitions and more. Students were
encouraged to complete five or more standards-based math games with
assistance and support from their parents. They received candy, math
journals, rulers and other door prizes provided by sponsors.
Carnival-style games, rides, and food were available at the culmination
of Family Math Night. Many of the students wore positive-image costumes
during the event.
