Good News in Schools
Transportation Department Honors its Staff Members
Jennifer Chapital will be honored by the Clayton County Public
Schools Transportation Department as the Employee of the Quarter for the
second quarter of the 2009-2010 school year.
Jennifer was nominated for the award by Rochelle Smith, Assistant
Principal of Mt. Zion Primary School, for the positive way she handles
the students and the issues of the students without resorting to safety
reports.
Jennifer’s photo and award information will be posted in the CCPS
Transportation Department Newsletter and Website. Her photo and award
announcement will also be displayed in a prominent area in the lobby of
Transportation Department.
This quarterly award is decided based on nominations submitted by
school administrators, and transportation leadership for any
transportation department team member who is setting standards for
excellence and innovation by promoting unity, community, continuity and
visibility. Congratulations to Ms. Chapital, and we appreciate you for
being committed to kids!
Karl Crosby will be honored by the Clayton County Public
Schools Transportation Department as the Employee of the Quarter for the
first quarter of the 2009-2010 school year.
Karl was nominated for the award by Patricia Simpson,
Assistant Principal of Kemp Elementary School, for the positive way he
assists students and for displaying excellent bus management skills.
Karl’s photo and award information will be posted in the
CCPS Transportation Department Newsletter and Website. His photo and
award announcement will also be displayed in a prominent area in the
lobby of Transportation Department.
This quarterly award is decided based on nominations
submitted by school administrators, and transportation leadership for
any transportation department team member who is setting standards for

Steve Knight is being honored by the Clayton County
Public Schools Transportation Department for winning the Employee
Suggestion Program (E.S.P) for the first quarter of the 2009-2010 school
year.
Mr. Knight suggested that the Transportation Department
install synchronized clocks on each bus’ dash board to improve on-time
delivery of students and ensure all drivers operate on the same time
schedule.
For his winning contribution, Mr. Knight will receive a
certificate, recognition in the department newsletter, a watch, and
lunch with the leadership team.
This quarterly award is selected from suggestions
submitted from Transportation Team Members. It is designed to request,
recognize, and reward employee improvement ideas. E.S.P allows staff
members to become more involved in the decision-making process at
Transportation.
