 TSA State Awards 2010

28 Outstanding Raider TSA Members competed against the best in Georgia this past week in Athens during the 48th Annual GA TSA State Leadership Conference. The chapter competed in 37 different Engineering, Technology & Leadership related events. Raven Hathcock presided over the conference as President. Our members also produced the event signs and banners used by the state association. When the smoke had cleared, RHS TSA had won eight 1st place trophies, three 2nd places and a third place in addition to 14 other top 10 places.

Mr. Price, who is also a member of the State Advisory Council and helped manage the conference, was awarded the 100% Advisor Award and the Pitchford Inspirational Teacher Award

The points earned from the top 10 awards earned RHS 3rd Place overall in the Outstanding School Award. Less than 20 points separated 1st place Monroe Area High School, 2nd place Parkview High and 3rd place Riverdale High. This marks the 10th straight year that RHS TSA has been one of the top five chapters in Georgia. During that time the chapter has won 2 state championships, been runner up 2 times, placed 3rd two times, placed 4th three times and 5th once.

The competition team members now turn their attention to getting the team to the National TSA Conference in Baltimore, Maryland in June and bringing back some national trophies to go with the state’s.
