Art Access

Lovejoy's art teacher, Juliana Thomas, was
pleased to accept the generous grant from the High Museum’ s ‘Art
Access’ program to visit the museum and see the once-in-a-lifetime
exhibit, "Leonardo Da Vinci, Hand of Genius." Students also had the
opportunity to attend, "Genius at Work!” a theatrical performance
created as a tour enhancement to the Leonardo da Vinci: Hand of the
Genius exhibition. During this performance, students learned about
Leonardo's life, work, and creative process as they tried out to be one
of his apprentices.
The Grant procedure consisted of writing an
essay on how Lovejoy Students will benefit from the exhibit. The
all-inclusive field trip program, Art Access, provides: free admission
to the High Museum and Art for students and required chaperones; payment
of school bus transportation invoice, if requested; free teacher
resources, and “Welcome Back” cards for all participating students.
