King Elementary Male Leadership Development Program

King Elementary is in its fourth year of the Kings of King Male Leadership Development Program with obvious positive results. A group of cadets dressed in their jackets were respectful and helpful as they provided community service at the Unity in the Community event. Their attitudes showcased the positive impact the program is making. Information about the program is listed below.

GOAL

The Kings of King Male Leadership Development Program primary goals are focused on instilling and bringing forth our young men’s leadership abilities through the following components: character building, improving self-discipline, self-control, and self-respect for themselves and others.  The Kings of King operate as a uniformed Brotherhood Academy, and has been put in place by the Counseling Department, under the direction of Ms. Cynthia Stamps-Jones in partnership with Time-er Inc. and the Clayton County Youth Adolescent Center.

PURPOSE

To address the social behavior and leadership development of all participants. To equip each member with necessary tools  in becoming positive and productive members of society.

OBJECTIVE

 To improve social behavior, mannerisms, display discipline and leadership skills through daily interactions, including unity drill exercises.

OUTCOME

  • Identify their social behavior strengths, weaknesses, and level of self esteem

  • Assume successful, active, productive leadership roles in school and the community

  • Understand the need for positive social behavior in their community and the role of others

  • Character development

  • Good hygiene

  • Respect for self and others

  • Health and Nutrition

  • Obey those in authority

  • Consequences of deviant behavior

  • Moral Responsibility

  • Leadership Development

  • To Rise Above Your Emotions

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

To graduate from the program; each member must perform/participate in:

3 community service tasks.

3 Son’s Day Out (members must complete this activity with their father or significant male role model).

2 Fundraisers (for the purpose of building trust, honesty, and teamwork, and to recognize the components of entrepreneurship in becoming independent earners).
