Pam Adamson - Board Chair

Dr. Pam Adamson was elected to Clayton County Board of Education in
December 2008 to fill an unexpired term for the seat representing
District 1. Dr. Adamson was elected to serve as Board Chair in
Dr. Adamson has dedicated her life to Georgia's children having served as Head Master of Mt. Zion Christian Academy in Jonesboro. She has also worked as Mathematics Program Specialist and Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Georgia Department of Education.
Prior to this, Dr. Adamson worked as an assistant superintendent of instruction, a district level coordinator for secondary mathematics and as a teacher of middle school and high school mathematics in Clayton County. At present, she serves as a Chair for SACS accreditation visits to schools throughout Georgia.
Dr. Adamson earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics at Middle Tennessee State University, her master's and specialist degrees in mathematics and education from Georgia State University, her administrative certification at the master's and specialist levels at Georgia State University, and her doctorate from the University of Georgia in education leadership with an emphasis in instructional supervision and district level leadership.
She has lived in Clayton County for nearly 40 years and is a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She is married to Hansel Adamson and has three sons and seven grandchildren.
