Board of Education

Wanda Smith
District Two

Four-Year Term: January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2012

Wanda Smith was elected to Clayton County Board of Education in December 2008 to represent District 2. She was sworn in January 2009 to fill the vacant seat.

Ms. Smith's dedication to educational achievement and leadership led her to pursue the office of a Board of Education member. She was inspired by her father, Charles Dennis Knox Sr. who instilled in her the real value of a good education.  Ms. Smith's favorite quote is from her father who often said, "Even a limited education can serve as a blueprint for achieving a great education."

Wanda Smith is a veteran of the Armed Forces and serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She holds a bachelor's degree from Troy State University in Criminal Justice and is passionate about opening the doors of higher learning for all children of Clayton County.
