Wanda Smith was elected to
Clayton County Board of Education in December 2008 to represent District
2. She was sworn in January 2009 to fill the vacant seat.
Ms. Smith's dedication to
educational achievement and leadership led her to pursue the office of a
Board of Education member. She was inspired by her father, Charles
Dennis Knox Sr. who instilled in her the real value of a good
education. Ms. Smith's favorite quote is from her father who often
said, "Even a limited education can serve as a blueprint for achieving a
great education."
Wanda Smith is a veteran of
the Armed Forces and serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She holds a bachelor's degree from Troy State University in
Criminal Justice and is passionate about opening the doors of higher
learning for all children of Clayton County. |
