Trinia Garrett
District Seven
Four Year Term: January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2012

Trinia Marcella Garrett was elected to the Clayton County Board of Education on July 15, 2008 to represent District 7. She was sworn in on July 19, 2008 to fulfill the unexpired term for David Ash per his request. However, Ms. Garrett's official term began January 1, 2009.

Her dedication and loyalty to children led her to run for office. She is very passionate about education and children and does not want to see them fall through the cracks of society. One of her favorite quotes is "Everybody can't be a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere with the proper leadership".

Ms. Garrett became a resident of Clayton County eleven years ago. Her educational background is in cosmetology. She attended the College of Cosmetology in Killeen (TX) where she earned her license as a Master Stylist. Ms. Garrett wanted to move up in the industry, so she enrolled in Arnold Patrick's University of Cosmetology where she received Cosmetology Instructor Training.

Ms. Garrett later decided to give up her career to fight for sexually abused children by venturing out into the non-profit world. She and her daughter founded the Putting the Past Behind Us Wish Foundation, Inc. The organization keeps her very involved in the community as an advocate and activist for children. She currently works with Kids and Teens of the Future Magazine and has upcoming projects in development which include The Trinia M. Garrett Keloids Foundation, Road Dawggz Entertainment and her book, Broken 2 B Made Whole.

Ms. Trinia is the proud parent of three and has two beautiful grandbabies.
