Pride in Who We Are
Dear Teacher Candidate:
Thank you for considering Clayton County
Public Schools as a place to pursue your professional opportunities. In
Clayton County, we stand for children and for “Excellence in Education.”
Clayton County Public Schools is one of the
leading school districts in Georgia. From placing counselors in all our
elementary schools to our award-winning Professional Learning department; from
nationally recognized fine arts programs to innovative technical/career
education; Clayton County has been a pioneer in offering new programs and
new vistas to employees and students alike.
Clayton County Public Schools is the sixth
largest school system in Georgia. We are a diverse school system with more
than 50, 000 students and 7,300 employees who work in 54 schools and 14
office and support services locations. We are growing at the rate of
approximately 1,200 students annually, attracting families and students to
excellent facilities and offering outstanding academic and extracurricular
programs for students.
All CCPS instructional and support staff
personnel and offices are linked electronically through a digital network.
Our system has led the nation is establishing programs to use increased
technology in classrooms and instructional processes. All teachers are
issued a laptop computer to aid in this instructional process and for
their professional use. In addition, more than 500 local and regional
businesses are Partners in Education with our schools and school system.
Since there is such a strong commitment to excellence in education in
Clayton County, many business people and community volunteers spend hours
mentoring and working with our students.
We invite you to take a thoughtful look at
Clayton County's schools and our people. We hope you will make the decision
to become a part of our team that is committed to student success and to
"Setting a Higher Standard For Education."
The Clayton County Public Schools Human Resources
department strives daily to meet the needs of its employees and the
job-seeking public. Areas of responsibility include certification,
background checks, leaves of absence, worker compensation, staff
vacancies, and all legal matters relating to personnel.
An Equal Opportunity Employer

the educational and employment policies under which it operates and
