How a Former CCPS Substitute Teacher can Re-apply for Substitute Teacher

Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's Degree from An Accredited College

If you have not met the requirements to stay on the list or if you have resigned and you want to reapply to become a substitute again, you will need to do the following:

1) If it has been less than 2 years since you have been a substitute for CCPS you will need to:
a) Complete or update an online substitute application
b) Submit an Application to be Reactivated for Substitute Teachers form to the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Department will review your file. If you are selected to become a substitute again, you will be notified. You can obtain the form on our website or come into the office.

2) If it has been more than 2 years since you subbed, you will need to submit an online substitute application. Your file will be reviewed and if you are selected to become a substitute again, you will be notified.

3) If you are notified to become a substitute again, you will be required to complete a new fingerprinting/background check at the cost of $45.00. This is conducted only at the Human Resources Department by appointment only. We will notify you to set up the appointment. You will also need to submit copies of your transcript with a degree statement or a copy of your teaching certificate. You will be scheduled for training as well as completing some paperwork. .

Clayton County Public Schools requires a new fingerprinting for anyone who has not been on our payroll for 70 days.
