CCPS Department of
Budget and Finance recognized for
excellence in financial reporting for third consecutive year
JONESBORO – The Budget and Finance Department of Clayton County Public
Schools has won the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting
Program as sponsored by the
Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO).
This is the third consecutive recognition earned by Clayton County
Schools.
To qualify for this honor, the district’s Budget and Finance Department
had to provide a high quality Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for
the fiscal year 2009.
The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was
designed by the ASBO International to enable school business officials
to achieve a high standard of financial reporting. The award, the
highest recognition for school district financial operations offered by
ASBO, is only conferred to school systems that have met or exceeded the
standards of the program.
“The work that goes into preparing a comprehensive annual financial
report that qualifies for this recognition is incredible,” said Edmond
T. Heatley, Superintendent. “I commend each member of the Budget and
Finance staff for their dedicated effort in this process and for their
commitment to fiscal excellence.”
