CCPS Department of Budget and Finance Honored for Excellence in
Financial Reporting for the Second Consecutive Year
JONESBORO - The Budget and
Finance Department of Clayton County Public Schools has won the
Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program as
sponsored by the Association of School Business Officials
International (ASBO). To qualify for this honor, the district’s
Budget and Finance Department had to provide a high quality
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year 2008.
This is the second year in a row that the Clayton County school
district has earned this honor.
The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was
designed by the ASBO International to enable school business
officials to achieve a high standard of financial reporting. The
award, the highest recognition for school district financial
operations offered by ASBO, is only conferred to school systems that
have met or exceeded the standards of the program.
"I commend each member of the Budget and Finance staff for their
dedicated efforts in making this honor possible," said Ramona
Thurman, Director of Budgets and Grants. "The work that goes into
preparing a comprehensive annual financial report that qualifies for
this recognition is incredible."
