As part of
its communication of information within the district, Clayton County
Public Schools operates a television studio with a staff that
provides visual media support to schools. Each high school has its
own video recording studio with the capability of airing programs
throughout the school. In addition, the district operates TV24, the
public access channel designated by Comcast Cable for Clayton County
Public Schools. The district uses the station to provide information
for school events, public notices, awards, achievements, and
instructional programs. It is estimated that the viewership of the
channel reaches approximately 80 thousand households.
Programs on
the station include CCS Today which highlights the events and
achievements of students and staff from Clayton County Public
Schools. The program is produced monthly and is hosted by David
Waller. The staff also produces a monthly interview with the
Superintendent of Schools, Edmond T. Heatley, Ed.D., which airs
daily.
The
television services staff provides video coverage for district wide
programs, selected school events, board meetings, and special events
based on requests for announcements to be aired. Requests should be
sent to
channel24@clayton.k12.ga.us using the form linked below.
Requests to post announcements on the air should be submitted
through each school’s designated Media Liaison.
