The Clayton County Fine Arts Department supports the district in reaching its mission/vision and Strategic Improvement Goals by providing an Education in the Arts and an Education through the Arts by cultivating the whole child, gradually building literacy while developing imagination, skill, reasoning, and intuition into unique forms of expression and communication. The Fine Arts Department ensures that ALL students in Clayton County Public Schools have access to the rich education and understanding that the fine arts department provides, regardless of their background, talents, or disabilities. All students will grow in their ability to capture their world when they learn from the arts. Through the CCPS arts education, all students will make a positive contribution to the nation's storehouse of culture.

Green indicates courses that are currently offered at each school.

All elementary schools offer General Music and Visual Arts. Jackson School of the Arts not only offers General Music and Visual Arts, students within the district have the opportunity to audition for dance, theatre, and chorus. In 2014, Jackson Elementary, Mount Zion Elementary, Pointe South Elementary, River's Edge Elementary, and Tara Elementary received keyboard labs to introduce students to music theory.

The fine arts teachers are assessed using the Student Learning Objectives and all secondary music teachers must participate in the Large Group Performance Evaluation.
