Thirty-eight schools were honored at the Board of Education’s regular monthly meeting on January 9, 2012 for receiving the honor of Title I Distinguished School. The award is given to schools that receive support from Title I and meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for three or more consecutive years. The State Department of Education also gives a monetary award to schools that receive the award for eight or more years, meaning those schools have met AYP for ten or more consecutive years.

Morrow Elementary School has made AYP consecutively for 11 years and has been named a Title I Distinguished School for 9 years.
