What is remediation?
Remediation is not a homework-assistance service. Students who participate in this program will receive instructional strategies in Math and Reading/Language Arts so that they can gain the skills needed to be successful in class.   Successful completion of this program will be determined by regular attendance and documentation of progress by the instructor as related to the Georgia Performance Standards.

Who is eligible to attend?
Any 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade student in elementary school and 6th, 7th, or 8th grade middle school student who has low math and/or reading and language-arts grades, low test scores or is recommended by a teacher or counselor.

Cost
After-school remediation is funded by the district and the state.  There is no cost for students to attend.

Transportation
Transportation will be provided to students whose parents request transportation during registration.  Only students present for after-school remediation are allowed to ride the after-school remediation bus.

Dates
After-School Remediation will occur on Tuesdays and Thursday starting on January 13, 2009.
