KeyTrain is a tool utilized for students needing
additional assistance to master the basic math and language
skills required for basic workplace literacy. Specifically,
this series is intended to assist in the fundamental
prerequisite skills that should be mastered before beginning the
traditional KeyTrain curriculum series. The system records a
composite score in addition to the individual objective scores.
These objectives represent the individual components and
building blocks required to learn and demonstrate basic math and
reading skills.

Clayton
County Public Schools will offer interested seniors an
opportunity to access a key tools that boost their and
prepares them for their journeys into post-secondary education
and the workplace.
The
Georgia Work Ready Assessment
gauges students' core skills in the areas of applied mathematics, reading
for information and locating information.
Based on their scores, they will receive a Work Ready
Certificate and a wallet card that verifies their skill level to
potential employers and demonstrates a commitment to success.
They also will learn how to access an easy-to-manage online
account, train in any skill areas where they would like to
improve, and learn more about employment in various industries
around the state.
Earning a
Georgia Work Ready Certificate is the first stop on a student's career pathway and sets them on a course for life-long learning.
We
are thrilled to offer the assessment at every high school and
encourage you to promote the benefits of Work Ready to your
senior classes as a complement to their high school diplomas and
other professional and academic certifications and degrees. Work
Ready administrators from local technical colleges will help us
arrange for a speaker from the local Chamber of Commerce to
visit our schools and address seniors. In addition, they will
provide access to various promotional materials to raise
awareness and attract the attention of our students.
Please
see the attached presentation and handout for an in-depth
overview of Get Work Ready Month. You can also visit the Work
Ready Web site,

for more information on the initiative.
Thank you in
advance for your assistance.
Gateway To Your Future
Career, Technical, and
Agriculture Education is an essential component of the educational program
available to the youth enrolled in Clayton County Public Schools
(CCPS). By integrating problem solving, hands-on activities, and
contextual learning the Career, Technical, and Agriculture
Education curriculum
provides opportunities for career exploration, guided practice
and application of academic and technical skills.
Students who graduate from high school after successfully
completing a Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education program of study are
prepared for immediate employment, future education and
life-long learning. Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education completers are
also prepared to fulfill their role as good citizens and
contributing members of society.
The Georgia
Department of Education has adopted the term Career, Technical,
and Agriculture Education as a title to more accurately represent the area of
study commonly known as Vocational Education. The term
Career, Technical, and Agriculture Education as used by CCPS is synonymous with
other terms such as vocational education, technical education,
career education, etc.
