The mission of CCPS Maintenance Department is twofold; 1st
- to be accountable for providing quality support services, delivered on time and within budget supporting student academic success in the Clayton County Public School system and 2nd - to deliver efficient and effective stewardship of District assets and facilities on behalf of the taxpayers in the CCPS district and the State of Georgia while sustaining those assets and facilities at the highest level, often well beyond their expected life cycle.
Under the direction of Samuel Coger, Facilities Maintenance Director, Stanley Scandrett and Rusty Denton, Coordinating Supervisors, the CCPS Maintenance Department repairs and maintains 74 Campuses totaling 1,618 acres, spread over 146 sq miles, including 36 Elementary Schools, 14 Middle Schools, 9 High Schools, and 15 Auxiliary Facilities. The combined interior square footage of the District's permanent and portable buildings is over 7.3 million square feet.
On average, the Maintenance Department
completes approximately 33,000 work requests per year to include
renovations and modifications to facilities as the District
continues its quest of excellence and preparing ALL students to
successfully compete in a global economy, the Maintenance Department completes preventive maintenance, routine and emergency repairs, while contributing to construction projects design review phases and oversight of the construction phases of the District's contracted construction projects.
Maintenance work centers includes Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, General Maintenance Technicians, HVAC Technicians, Energy Management Specialists, Locksmiths, Electronics Technicians, Custodians, Building & Grounds Technicians and Kitchen Equipment Repair Technicians.
The Maintenance Department office staff consists of 1-Director, 1-Coordinating Supervisor, 1-Office Manager, 2-Administrative Assistants
