Feeding today's youth
has never been more challenging. The Clayton County Public
Schools Nutrition Department has met the challenge by offering a
wide assortment of food choices that meet the U.S.D.A. Dietary
Guidelines for Healthy Americans. As a district, we feed lunch
to over 84% of our students ( 42,000+ ) and over 39% of our students
( 19,700+ ) eat
breakfast at school. This is one of the highest averages in the
state. Breakfast, long recognized as the most important meal of
the day, is now offered in all of our schools.
