Dear CCPS Employee,

The Department of Technology would like to welcome you back for the start of what will hopefully be a successful and rewarding 2011/2012 school year. Continuing in our efforts to provide you with a high level of service and support, we have implemented the following support changes effective immediately.

New Help Desk System
The new Help Desk system can be accessed by using the URL tsc.clayton.k12.ga.us. In order to request a TECHNOLOGY WORK ORDER, you must enter your current username and login credentials and complete a trouble ticket for all technology requests. This includes such requests as printer problems, digital classroom issues, and even data reports needed. As further assistance, you may watch the instructional video. Thank you so much for your patience in the transition to the new Help Desk online support system.

Password Self Service Portal
CCPS employees now have the capability of managing personal passwords. You no longer have to wait until you are back in the office to reset or unlock your long alpha-numeric password. This service will be available to you 24/7. Simply visit the Help Desk site (tsc.clayton.k12.ga.us) and click on the "Forgotten password" link. Registration (to create challenge phrases for example) is required and will occur when you first log-in to the site. Please be sure to follow the password strength guidelines (see next paragraph).

Password Strength
It is in the best interest of CCPS that all employees follow the new password strength requirements. The Department of Technology requires that all new passwords are created by following these rules:

  • Passwords cannot contain the user's account name
  • Minimum passwords length is 8 characters and maximum is 256 characters
  • Passwords must contain characters from at least three of the following four categories:
    • English uppercase alphabet characters (A-Z)
    • English lowercase alphabet characters (a-z)
    • Base 10 digits (0-9)
    • Non-alphanumeric characters (for example, !$#,%)

Example of a qualifying password is; "My Team won in 2011". You now have the opportunity to personalize your password which will result in a more secure CCPS computing environment.

New E-mail Format
We have made changes to our email address format. This new format is your firstname.lastname@clayton.k12.ga.us and is consistent across the board. For those users with more common names, a middle initial may have been added. To help with the transition, you will continue to receive email with your old email address for 6 months. For further details on this format, please click on this link Outlook Address Tutorial. Please take the opportunity during this time period to notify your contacts of your new email address.

Display of Location Code
We have changed the way your name appears in the Address Book of the email system. We have made it easier to search contact information by updating the global address list offered by your e-mail system (Exchange\Outlook). Please click on this link Outlook Address Tutorial for a short tutorial.

E-Pay Statement
Many of you are now familiar with the E-Pay statement services. The Department of Technology has made it possible to access this information via our website. Simply hover over the "STAFF" tab and select "Access" or click on the following link: https://ccpsshare.clayton.k12.ga.us/district/Pages/My-Pay-Statements.aspx
