We're cruising along the Information Superhighway!" I cut out a black curving road from construction paper... then added various Microsoft Clip Art printouts of vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, taxis, etc. in various sizes. The part that makes it interesting, though, is that I asked each teacher for a small photo from the recent school pictures. (It was hard for them to part with a school photo! I'm joking!) I cut out the teachers faces and put them in the windows and in the driver and passenger seats of all the vehicles. A digital camera could be used for the same effect- but it was easier to ask for donations of photos. I even made our PE teacher the gas station attendant using clip art. I might add web sites on pretend stores along the road, too.

21st Century Digital boy is the title of a song by a long-time punk rock band. None of the students or teachers "got it" as I was putting it up, but there's your teachable moment. The border makes use of those pesky outdated CDs, and I have displayed some of my newest books on technology.
