CCPS Superintendent Earns 2025-2026 NSPRA Honor
Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) proudly announces that Superintendent/CEO of Schools Dr. Anthony W. Smith has been named a 2025–26 Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA)—a distinguished national honor awarded to only 30 superintendents across the United States.

All schools and offices of Clayton County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026, in observance of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
All schools and offices will resume their regular schedules and business operations on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

The Clayton County Board of Education (CCBOE) will conduct a Called Board Meeting on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Performing Arts Center, 2530 Mt. Zion Parkway in Jonesboro.

In light of Superintendent Dr. Smith's retirement on February 1, 2026, the Clayton County Board of Education unanimously voted to appoint Dr. Douglas Hendrix Sr. as Interim Superintendent, effective February 2, 2026.
