Jonesboro High School's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) celebrated the conclusion of the construction and renovation project on the campus of Jonesboro High School (JHS) during a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Nearly 175 district leaders, local dignitaries, school personnel, CCPS students and community members witnessed the event.
Jonesboro High School Principal, Ms. Felicia Brown, Clayton County Board of Education (CCBOE) Chair District 3 Ms. Jessie Goree; CCBOE District 1 Representative Jasmine Bowles; CCBOE District 4 Representative Victoria Williams; CCBOE District 5 Representative Dr. Deatrice “Dee” Haney; CCBOE District 6 Representative Mary Baker; CCBOE District 8 Representative-elect Joy Tellis Cooper; CCBOE District 9 Representative Benjamin Straker; CCPS Superintendent/CEO of Schools Dr. Morcease J. Beasley and a host of JHS students and staff as well as school district and community officials participated in cutting the ribbon. Special entertainment was provided by the Majestic Marching Cardinals of Jonesboro High School. Tours of the $45 million facility completed the ceremony.
CCPS congratulates Principal Brown and her team for an excellent ceremony and wishes the best for all members of the Jonesboro High School family for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year in their new/renovated school building!
