Dr. Ebony T. Lee
Dr. Ebony T. Lee is currently the Chief in the Communications, Public Relations and Marketing Division. Since joining Clayton County Public Schools over two decades ago, Dr. Lee has served in various roles.
Prior to her current role, she was Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, K-12 English Language Arts and Media Services Coordinator, a college adjunct instructor, a literacy coach, and a secondary English teacher. As an Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Lee ensures that teachers and students have access to a world-class, academically challenging, and relevant core curricula, along with the necessary wrap-around supports, assessments, and professional learning opportunities.
Dr. Lee has presented locally, nationally, and internationally on topics, such as: Advancing and Deepening Learning for All and Paving the Way to More Equity. She was even called upon to deliver a lightning-round speech during a Georgia statewide conference for the Literacy for Learning, Living and Leading in Georgia grant.
A few of her recent publications include: The WriteVoice Toolkit (2021), Unlocking the Code to Reading Instruction (Smartbrief, 2020) and Amplifying Teachers’ Voices to Improve Student Outcomes in Georgia (2020). Throughout her educational career, Dr. Lee has received recognitions, such as: Teacher of the Year, Who’s Who Among America’s Educators, and District Support Leader of the Year for Clayton County Public Schools in Jonesboro, Georgia. Dr. Lee takes the literacy and learning mission seriously and aims to ensure all students receive that “master key” that opens many doors of opportunity – and that is literacy.
