Mr. Andy Sykes
Andy Sykes is the Chief Technology Officer for Clayton County Public Schools where he leads
the development and execution of the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with educational
goals. He oversees the management of the district's technology infrastructure, including
networks, hardware, software systems, and cloud services, prioritizing security and reliability.
Andy drives innovation by exploring new technologies to enhance the educational experience
for students and prepare them for the digital world. Collaborating with district leaders and
educators, he ensures that technology initiatives support curriculum and instructional needs
while maintaining compliance with regulations and standards. This includes working with
educators to identify and implement new technologies and applications that can enhance
teaching and learning, and collaborating with district leaders to develop and implement
technology plans and policies. His dedication to leveraging technology for educational
excellence guides his efforts to empower students and educators with the tools they need to
succeed.
Andy began serving the students, faculty, and staff of Clayton County Public Schools in 2013.
During his tenure Andy has served as the Director of Technical Operations, Coordinator of
Technical Services, Field Support Supervisor, and Support Technician. He has a strong
background in technology management and a passion for education. Andy holds a
bachelor's degree in Information Technology and has worked in the IT field for more than 15
years. Prior to his career in technology, he served in the United States Marine Corps where
he gained valuable leadership and problem-solving skills.
Outside of work, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, participating in
activities such as hiking, traveling, and cooking.
