CCPS Georgia Picture Book Reading Bowl

This is the image for the news article titled CCPS Georgia Picture Book Reading BowlClayton County Public Schools’ (CCPS) Arnold, Brown, Callaway, Kemp, Northcutt and Unidos Dual Language Elementary Schools, as well as Kemp Primary School, were participants as the school district hosted its first annual CCPS Georgia Picture Book Reading Bowl at Kendrick Middle School. The event was held Saturday, November 4.

Following the same format at the annual Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl, teams compete using quizzing buzzers to answer questions about the twenty picture books nominated for the Georgia Picture Book Award. As the six-round competition concluded, each student received a free book to add to their home library before gathering in the gymnasium to receive words of encouragement from Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Morcease J. Beasley.

The CCPS Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl competition is scheduled for January 27, 2018, at Kendrick Middle School with thirty-two teams expected to compete.
