This is the image for the news article titled  Falcons Friday at River's Edge Elementary School Through a partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, Clayton County Public Schools’ (CCPS) River’s Edge Elementary School held a Falcons Friday Pep Rally for students in grades third through fifth, today, December 1, to celebrate student achievement through the first semester of the 2017-18 school year.

Created by the team, Falcons Friday is an initiative designed to strengthen community ties through a shared passion and excitement for the Atlanta Falcons by encouraging students to wear Falcons colors and the schools to host an activity.

Host by Principal Alisha Mohr and other members of the River’s Edge Administrative team, the pep rally provided the students an opportunity to engage with the Atlanta Falcons mascot Freddie Falcon as well as Atlanta Falcons Legend and member of the 1998 NFC Champion team, Chuck Smith! As part of the celebration, various students received special prizes for achievements including advancement in Accelerated Reader programs, perfect attendance, good behavior, school citizenship and various other categories.

In addition to honoring the students, Atlanta Falcons Marketing Manager, Shavannia Williams, Chuck Smith and Freddie Falcon also recognized Dr. Douglas Hendrix – Assistant Superintendent of School Improvement, Principal Alisha Mohr, Assistant Principal Monica Goree, and Bookkeeper Torey Wucher for their outstanding leadership and hard work in ensuring student achievement at River’s Edge Elementary and a successful Falcons Friday!
