Clayton READS

This year, we are ensuring Clayton READS 30 Minutes Every Day This Summer by selecting free eBooks for our Summer Reading suggestions! 

Students who read a variety of books each day of the summer are better prepared for the new school year. Ensure your child is reading at least 30 minutes a day all summer long!

Complete each step below to ensure your child is ready to read this summer!

Step 1: Click the image below that matches the grade level your child is entering next school year. Follow the instructions on the list to request access to the eBook library.

STEP 2Click the image below to view and print the Summer Reading Challenges. Return the completed Summer Reading Challenges to your Media Specialist in August.


Step 3: After reading, elementary students can “show what they know” by taking an Accelerated Reader quiz by going to, login using your student username and password, and clicking Renaissance Accelerated Reader . Students using Accelerated Reader for the first time can e-mail for support.

More Reading Options: The digital resources below are available this summer to provide even more reading choices.

MyOn ( MyOn provides access to thousands of high-quality, high-interest eBooks including fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels. Schools with MyOn Access can login at and click Clever to login and read digital books in MyOn.

All students can read in MyOn this summer for free by going to, enter School Name: Get Georgia Reading / Username: claytoncounty / Password: read .

When a student is done reading, a student can show understanding by taking a quiz in MyOn or, if the school has access, in Accelerated Reader.

TumbleBook Library (, click TumbleBook Library): The Clayton County Public Library provides access to TumbleBook Library, a collection of hundreds of ebooks including animated picture books, read-along chapter books, videos, and more.

To begin reading, go to and click TumbleBook Library.

Achieve3000 (For ALL students in grades 9-12): Students in grades 9-12 are able to use the Achieve3000 online reading program to select and read high-interest, informational articles to continue developing their vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension skills at school or at home.
