Family Support

Clayton County's Pre-Kindergarten Program serves four-year-old children and their families. Pre-K Transition programs prepare all partners, students, families, schools and communities to develop the knowledge, skills and relationships that help students move from one educational setting to another.

Transition Programs:

  • Assist families with movement between private and public school environments
  • Assist families in crisis
  • Work closely with childcare providers to assess student needs related to entering Pre-School, Pre-K and Kindergarten
  • Transition programs assist in coordination of services for children and their families by linking family members to needed services in the local community.

Transition program can plan classes around the needs of 3 and 4-year-old children and their families. They also offer meetings to help parents understand and actively participate in their child's education.
