Action I, Section A
Status: In-Progress
The org chart has been released after BOE support with hiring of all vacancies in progress. The Deputy Superintendent 2nd in Command and Deputy Superintendent for School Leadership and Improvement have been appointed and are working. 

Action II, Section A
Status: In-Progress
Critical Conversations have been scheduled and communicated to all. The schedule is posted on the website and within Infinite Campus for parents. The conversations will continue throughout the school year. The feedback will be used to inform actions. 

Action II, Section B
Status: Completed
The overall areas of focus and the instructional areas of focus for SY17-18 have been developed and communicated. The Board received the information on July 31st and the employee's received the info via LiveStream on August 1. All employees received the info via email.

The expectations for all areas have been identified and shared with actions for each area to be informed throughout the school year as monitoring occurs.

Action III
Status: Completed
The BOE was provided a School Readiness Update on July 31st. All schools are ready with staff providing support for various on-going challenges such as HVAC disruptions due to age of equipment and general maintenance. The HR Department continues to support the hiring process with vacancies monitors daily. There is still work to do as we ensure all vacancies are filled. Overall, schools are ready to receive students on the first day of school. 

Action IV
Status: In-Progress
All planning for Superintendent's Advisories are in progress with dates scheduled. Staff is working to finalize methods for identifying participants and will begin communicating and preparing for each advisory meeting. Advisories will occur monthly throughout the year. 

Action V
Status: In-Progress
Meetings with Commissioners, State Elected Officials, and Mayors are in progress. A meeting with the Commissioner Chairman Turner and mayors of the cities of Clayton County occurred with all lending their total support as we work toward achieving higher levels of performance. They agreed to meet quarterly thereby providing a platform for on-going collaboration and support.

The Strategic Planning process has been initiated with the BOE obtaining an update on July 31st. The timeline was shared and inclusive of community meetings, Board input opportunities, and efforts for surveying of all stakeholders. This is the District's AdvancED renewal as well. Info will be posted on the website. 

Action VII, Section A
Status: In-Progress
Business Services conducts annual audits. The Superintendent has been meeting to address accountability, fiscal controls, and budget planning process for the current school year and toward the next fiscal year. 

Action VII, Section B
Status: In-Progress
All HR functions and processes are being revisited toward the removal of any barriers that impact hiring and recruitment. The Superintendent will be hiring a new Chief for Human Resources with the position to be posted the month of August. The HR department has been working to hire new teachers and assist with those who may need Provisional Certification as the district expands its "Grow Your Own" initiative.
