Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) Superintendent Dr. Morcease J. Beasley officially announces Jean
and Jersey Fridays beginning on Friday, August 11, 2017. In an effort to create a culture of teamwork
and support for our students and one another, which is a major component of a high performing school
district, all CCPS staff and students are encouraged to dress down every Friday (as appropriate) in jeans
and memorabilia (jerseys and/or other team apparel) of their favorite athletic team.

The jerseys and/or apparel may be representative of Clayton County Public Schools, a college/university
or a professional athletic team of choice. While offering employees and students the opportunity to dress
in jeans and athletic apparel, it is asked that everyone who chooses to participate, does so in a manner that
continues to maintain the level of public professionalism and uplift the standards of excellence that are
illustrative of the levels of high performance we aim to achieve. It is imperative that everyone exercises
their best judgment in selecting dress down attire that is appropriate for the workplace and school sites.
All employees and students opting out of Jean and Jersey Fridays are encouraged to continue to dress in
standard business attire and school uniform dress as expected. All departments with uniformed staff should
coordinate with their immediate supervisor to determine the appropriate work apparel. Persistent issues
relative to not adhering to professional standards and applicable dress codes will be addressed between
the superintendent and school principals.

While very unlikely, the dress code is subject to change if there’s a district-wide need. Thank you all in
advance as we work collaboratively to support academic achievement and build an environment that is
conducive for achieving higher levels of performance.
