Clayton County Public Schools is always looking for great talent to add to our substitute teaching, substitute paraprofessional, and substitute Pre-K Teacher Assistants pool.   • Apply online today! Complete a substitute teacher application by clicking here
  • Provide college diploma or transcript showing completion of at least a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Georgia Educator’s Certificate can be provided in lieu of transcripts
  • Provide at least one current or previous supervisory reference and at least one character reference
  • Attend the substitute teacher training by invitation


Rates of Pay for Substitute Teachers:

  • $93 Daily
  • $120 Long Term (10 consecutive days or more in the same classroom)
  • $137 Long Term with a valid Georgia Educator’s Certificate (10 consecutive days or more in the same classroom) 

Rate of Pay for Substitute Paraprofessional

  • $83 Daily

Rate of Pay for Substitute Pre-K Teacher Assistant

  • $73 Daily

Substitutes are provided reasonable assurance of continued employment for the upcoming school year. As a substitute, you are used on an as-needed basis with no guarantee of hours and are not eligible for benefits.
