What do students learn in World Languages?
- Practical communication skills in a second or third language
- Intercultural competence or the ability to understand, communicate, and interact respectfully with people. Students learn to develop empathy, open-mindedness, and skills needed to navigate a world in which people they encounter both at home and abroad come from many different cultural backgrounds.

What can a parent or guardian do at home to support their child's learning in World Languages?
- Ask the student what they are learning
- Ask the student to teach you a few phrases or words each day
- Find opportunities for them to eat at restaurants related to the language they are learning
- Develop opportunities for students to communicate with family or friends who speak that language
- Read social media or news articles from people who speak another language other than English

- Students have the opportunity to complete Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs) at the end of each level of language course
- Students will earn a digital badge and complete a step in their portfolio towards an International Skills Diploma Seal during their senior year
- This program will be shared with teachers and students beginning October 26th
- Global Scholars Honor Society
- Juniors and seniors who have completed at least two semesters of World Languages courses are invited to apply to membership in the honor society
