Retirement

Plan Today. Enjoy Tomorrow.

Whether you’re beginning your career, building your retirement savings, or preparing for your next chapter, understanding your retirement benefits can help you plan with confidence. Clayton County Public Schools offers access to retirement programs and voluntary savings options that support your long-term financial goals.

Your Retirement Benefits

Eligible CCPS employees participate in the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia (TRS) or the Public School Employees Retirement System of Georgia (PSERS) based on their position and applicable eligibility requirements. Your retirement system can provide information about your account, service credit, retirement eligibility, benefit estimates, and application process.

Build Your Retirement Savings

Eligible employees may supplement their retirement income through CCPS-sponsored 403(b), Roth 403(b), 457(b), and Roth 457(b) retirement savings plans. These voluntary plans allow you to save through payroll deductions. Contact a participating financial institution to learn about available investment options, establish an account, or discuss your savings goals.

Preparing to Retire?

Start planning early to give yourself time to review your benefits and coordinate your transition.

  • Contact TRS or PSERS to confirm your eligibility and obtain a retirement benefit estimate.
  • Review the retirement application process and required documentation.
  • Consider how retirement may affect your health insurance and other benefits.
  • Contact your retirement savings provider to discuss your account and available options.
  • Coordinate your retirement date and required separation procedures with CCPS.

We’re Here to Help

The CCPS Benefits Unit can assist with navigating District retirement procedures and forms requiring the plan administrator’s signature. For pension estimates, retirement applications, investment guidance, distributions, or online account access, contact the retirement system or financial institution directly.
