The Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) Teacher Academy of Preparation and Pedagogy (TAPP) is a 2-year practical, field-based program consisting of a minimum of 400 hours of instruction, including individualized instruction from trained mentors and content specialists. The program is approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and is based on the research and guiding principles of Charlotte Danielson's Enhancing Professional Practices: A Framework for Teaching, the INTASC Standards, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, and Georgia Teacher Evaluation Program Criteria for instructional excellence.
Teacher candidates receiving certification through Clayton County Public Schools' Teacher Academy of Preparation and Pedagogy will receive quality educational instruction, maximum job-embedded support, and be well-prepared to assist students in becoming "life-long learners."

TAPP Pathways
We are currently recruiting TAPP candidates in the following content areas:
*Elementary Education (K-5) | *Foreign Language-Spanish & French (K-12) |
*English Language Arts (6-12) | Social Studies (6-12) |
*Math (6-12) | CTAE Fields (6-12) |
*Science (6-12) | Art & Music (K-12) |
*Special Education General (K-8) & Adapted (K-12) |
*High-need areas
All other content areas are accepted per county needs.
Certification Information for Secondary (6 - 12) and Foreign Language Program Areas
Secondary English, math, science, all Social Studies areas, Foreign Language, and Fine Arts (art, music, band, and chorus) must have a bachelor's degree with a major in the assigned teaching field or a transcript assessment confirming successful completion of credit hours in upper level (300-400) courses in the assigned teaching field and a passing score on the appropriate GACE Content Assessment. For high school pathways, a minimum of 21 credit hours are required; for middle grades, 15 credit hours are required. GPAs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
*Please note that the Clayton County Public Schools TAPP program has rules in addition to the state GaTAPP rules.
Applying to CCPS TAPP
The application process starts with attendance at a TAPP Interest Meeting*.
*Please have copies of your unofficial undergraduate transcripts, along with any GACE score reports, ready to submit*
TAPP Interest Meetings will be conducted virtually.
Meeting registration is required.

Application Deadlines
CCPS TAPP is currently accepting applications. Deadlines are as follows:
- 1st Deadline for full application packets for the Winter 2025 cohort is December 13, 2024.
- 2nd Deadline for full application packets for the Fall 2025 cohort is June 16, 2025.
Please reference the TAPP Application Checklist link below for the required documentation before submitting your application. Please note that all official GACE scores and college transcripts must be included in your application.
