Clayton County Public Schools Teacher Academy of Preparation and Pedagogy (CCPS TAPP) The Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) Teacher Academy of Preparation and Pedagogy (TAPP) is a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC)-approved, two-year alternative certification program designed to prepare aspiring educators for success in today's classrooms. This rigorous, field-based program combines 400+ hours of professional learning with meaningful classroom experience, individualized coaching, and ongoing support from trained mentors, instructional coaches, and content specialists. Through a blend of coursework and job-embedded learning, candidates develop the knowledge and instructional practices needed to become effective, confident educators. Important Information:
While the CCPS TAPP Program follows all Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) requirements, Clayton County Public Schools has additional program expectations and eligibility requirements that candidates must meet for acceptance and successful completion.
TAPP Pathways
We are currently recruiting TAPP candidates in the following content areas:

All other content areas are accepted per county needs.
Certification Information for Secondary (6 - 12) and Foreign Language Program Areas
Secondary English, Math, Science, all Social Studies areas, Foreign Language, and Fine Arts (art, music, band, and chorus) must have a bachelor's degree with a major in the assigned teaching field or a transcript assessment confirming successful completion of credit hours in upper level (300-400) courses in the assigned teaching field and a passing score on the appropriate GACE Content Assessment.
For high school pathways, a minimum of 21 credit hours are required; for middle grades, 15 credit hours are required. GPAs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
*Please note that the Clayton County Public Schools TAPP program has rules in addition to the state GaTAPP rules.

Application Deadlines - CCPS TAPP is currently accepting applications. Deadlines are as follows:
- Deadline for full application packets for the Winter 2027 cohort is December 4, 2026.
- Deadline for full application packets for the Fall 2027 cohort is June 4, 2027.
Please note that all official GACE scores and college transcripts must be included in your application.
