Dr. Stefanie Harmon


Dr. Stefanie Harmon began her teaching career in the Clayton County Public School District in 2008 in the area of Early Childhood. Currently serving in the capacity of Teacher Development Specialist for the department of Professional Learning, Dr. Harmon has over 13 years of experience in K-5 teaching and coaching and support.
Dr. Harmon is an augural, active member of the CCPS Social Emotional Learning Team, and co-wrote the Growth Mindset professional development course, as well as the proposal and curriculum for the Urban Education Endorsement. Additionally, Dr. Harmon has facilitated and developed various professional development trainings to teams and staff members , both in and outside of the district, in the areas of Classroom Management, Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, Growth, and elementary Science, and Social Studies. Dr. Harmon has also served as a department chairperson, Lead Mentor, and a university-level cooperating teacher.
For undergraduate studies, Dr. Harmon attended Georgia Southern University and later earned a Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership, and a Doctoral degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University. In 2015, Dr. Harmon earned the prestigious title of Teacher of the Year for the Clayton County School District.
Dr. Harmon is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and outside of work, enjoys spending time with family, reading biographical memoirs, food tastings, and sightseeing.
