Online Application

Complete an online employment application through the Clayton County Public Schools Careers portal. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications established for the position for which they are applying.

Oral Interview

Qualified applicants may be invited to participate in an oral interview conducted by a panel of CCSPD personnel. Candidates may be evaluated on work and life experience, preparation for the position, judgment and decision-making, stress tolerance, communication skills, interpersonal skills, professionalism, and integrity.

Background Investigation

Applicants selected to continue will undergo a comprehensive background investigation to determine overall suitability for employment. Areas reviewed may include moral character and integrity, employment history and work habits, interactions with others, judgment and decision-making, personal and professional conduct, and intellectual and job-related abilities. Applicants are expected to provide complete, accurate, and truthful information throughout the process.

Command Staff Review

Upon successful completion of the background investigation, the applicant's file is presented to CCSPD Command Staff for review. Command Staff will evaluate the candidate's overall qualifications and determine whether the applicant will advance in the hiring process.

Psychological Evaluation

Applicants advancing through the selection process are then required to successfully complete a psychological evaluation to determine their suitability for the responsibilities and demands associated with serving as a law enforcement officer in a school environment.

Conditional Offer of Employment

Candidates who successfully complete the required phases of the selection process, including the background investigation and psychological evaluation, may receive a conditional offer of employment, subject to completion of all remaining District and Department requirements.
