National School Lunch Week (observance) - October 18-22
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.

During this annual weeklong celebration, CCPS Nutrition Services will celebrate in our cafeterias with special menus, events, student activities and more.

Wellness Policy Assessment
USDA requires that , "All LEAs must assess their wellness policy at least once every three years on the extent to which schools are in compliance with the district policy, the extent to which the local wellness policy compares to model local school wellness policies, and the progress made in attaining the goals of the local wellness policy. LEAs must make this assessment available to the public".
