Career Technical Instructors (CTI) Student Winners for State Leadership Competition

In our third year of participation, the Department of Exceptional Students has continued to excel in integrating students with disabilities into Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) tracts through the support of special education teachers in the role of Career Technical Instructors (CTI). This initiative supports participating students in developing vital vocational skills crucial for high school and beyond. This year, our dedication and hard work paid off spectacularly at the state competition. We are incredibly proud to announce the outstanding achievements of our CTI students, schools, and coordinators at the recent CTI State Leadership Conference, where our students not only competed but also excelled earning top honors - including a first-place award, two second-place awards and three- third-place awards in their respective areas. Additionally, one student was awarded a CTI scholarship and Lovejoy High School was awarded “outstanding school of the year” .

The achievements of our students in the CTI competition have had a profound impact on our school system, illustrating the effectiveness of targeted support and high expectations. These accomplishments highlight the strength of our Career and Technical Instruction (CTI) programs in preparing students for success in competitive and real-world environments. From first-year competitors placing at the state level to schools being recognized for overall excellence, these victories not only boost student confidence and open doors for future opportunities, but also shine a positive light on our educators, schools, and district-wide commitment to student achievement. This recognition affirms that our CTI programs are cultivating leaders, innovators, and professionals of tomorrow. This success not only highlights the potential of our students with disabilities but also reinforces the importance of inclusive educational practices within vocational, career, and technical training.
