Expansion and Relocation of the Transition to Work Program
The Department of Exceptional Students is proud to announce the expansion of our Transition to Work program, designed specifically for 'super seniors' in alternate curriculum programming. This pivotal program, now titled CareerPREP (Career Preparation and Readiness Education Program) provides invaluable work opportunities and equips students with disabilities with technical and soft skills needed for successful transitions into the workforce. Beginning in the 2024-25 school year, this program will be hosted at newly constructed areas within the Perry Career Academy.
This strategic move to Perry Career Academy represents a significant enhancement in our capacity to offer comprehensive work training and community-based vocational instruction. By situating the program in a newly designed classroom at a career-focused facility, we are set to provide our students with disabilities even more robust training opportunities, tailored to meet the demands of the workforce. This expansion not only broadens the scope of vocational training available but also solidifies our commitment to preparing all students for life beyond high school. The enhanced program will serve as a beacon of our dedication to inclusivity, showcasing our continuous efforts to equip every student with the tools necessary for success in their future careers.
