Individual Student Planning

Plan with Purpose: Academics • Career • Post-Secondary Readiness

In Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS), Individual Student Planning (ISP) is how we ensure every student has a clear path to graduation and a strong plan for what comes next. Through ISP, students work with their school counselor to explore their strengths and interests, set goals, intentionally select courses, and monitor their progress over time.

ISP aligns with the CCPS Four E’sEnrollment, Enlistment, Employment, and Entrepreneurship—so students graduate with a realistic, informed, and connected plan to future opportunities.

ISP helps students:

  • Set goals and take ownership of their plan

  • Make informed course and pathway decisions

  • Explore careers and postsecondary options

  • Track progress toward graduation

  • Prepare for life after high school—with confidence

What is Individual Student Planning?

Individual Student Planning is a continuous planning process that supports students academically, socially, and in career development—so they are prepared for the transition from high school to postsecondary success.

In CCPS, ISP is designed to help students:

  • Understand graduation requirements and stay on track

  • Align course selections to interests, goals, and future plans

  • Explore careers, pathways, and real-world opportunities

  • Develop skills for college, career, and life readiness

  • Build a postsecondary plan aligned to the Four E’s

ISP includes:

  • Academic planning and course selection aligned to graduation requirements

  • Career exploration and pathway development

  • Postsecondary planning (college, technical programs, military, workforce, entrepreneurship)

  • Progress monitoring (grades, credits, attendance, assessment data)
