Meal Services Update 3/27

Effective Monday, March 30, 2020, Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) will add Kilpatrick Elementary School to the list of Grab-N-Go meal service locations, bringing the districts’ total to twenty-three (23) sites providing breakfast and lunch meals to children during the school closure. In addition, CCPS will continue to provide these services during the upcoming Spring Break closure. The district will observe the 2019-2020 Spring Break as scheduled beginning on Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, 2020.

Effective Thursday, March 26, 2020, Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) will add Mt. Zion Elementary School to the list of Grab-N-Go meal service locations, bringing the districts’ total to twenty-two (22) sites providing breakfast and lunch meals to children during the school closure. In addition, CCPS will continue to provide these services during the upcoming Spring Break closure. The district will observe the 2019-2020 Spring Break as scheduled beginning on Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10, 2020.

Food Services Meal Services Update 3/17
Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020, Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) will add eleven (11) Grab-N-Go meal service locations for a total of twenty-one (21) sites to provide breakfast and lunch meals to children during the indefinite school closure. The school system has altered the service hours allowing children to pick up both breakfast and lunch at the same time. The new hours to receive meals are 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. 



In addition, beginning March 27, Clayton County Public Schools will partner with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to provide grocery services to the families of CCPS students at five locations. Volunteers are needed for this initiative at the five Food Bank locations and should arrive by 10:00 a.m. every Thursday until further notice to package food items. Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist in distributing the packaged food to participants and should arrive by 8:00 a.m. every Friday, at the sites until further notice. Individuals interested in assisting with this volunteer opportunity should confirm via email at ccpscommunications@clayton.k12.ga.us.


It is important to note that District Officials are continuing to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on our state and nation and will adjust plans as needed in response to changing circumstances. All updates will be communicated as they occur.

First Meal Services Announcement
As Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) remains closed indefinitely amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19), please be reminded that the district school nutrition staff is serving free Grab-N-Go Breakfast and Lunch Meals to students who are 18 or younger or individuals with a state-defined mental or physical disability. Meal service for breakfast is available Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. The lunch meal service is Monday- Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Students must present school i.d. cards to receive meals. Parents can receive meals on their children's behalf only if the student is present at the time of pick up.


The locations selected to serve as meal distribution sites effective Monday, March 16, 2020, are Edmonds Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Lake Ridge Elementary, Eddie White Academy, Rex Mill Middle, Kendrick Middle School, North Clayton Middle, Forest Park High, Mundy's Mill High, Riverdale High.

In addition, Clayton County Public Schools is partnering with the Atlanta Food Bank to provide mobile food pantries that will be available to support the families of CCPS students. The Atlanta Food Bank will be held on March 20, 2020, at Forest Park Middle School beginning at 4:00 p.m and at Riverdale Elementary School on March 31, 2020 beginning at 3:00 p.m.

While the district continues to monitor the needs of our families during the spread of COVID-19, leaders are researching additional ways to meet the needs of our diverse population. As a result of  these efforts, Clayton County Public Schools will increase the number of sites currently serving meals on Wednesday, March 18 and partner with the Atlanta Food Bank to provide food and grocery service to five (5) additional locations. While the details of the increased sites and partnership logistics are being finalized, we ask that all parties interested in volunteer opportunities to assist at the Atlanta Food Bank to be determined locations, contact the Clayton County Public Schools Division of Communications via email at (ccpscommunications@clayton.12.ga.us.) Additional details will be announced as updates are confirmed.
