JONESBORO – Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) has partnered with the Baranco Auto Motive Car Dealership in Morrow to provide Career, Technical & Agricultural Education (CTAE) students in the Automotive & Light Repair Pathways at Riverdale, Lovejoy and Morrow high schools, as well as the Perry Career Academy, with first hand real-world experience in the automotive industry. In addition to providing industry experience, Baranco Auto Motive is also offering one free oil change to CCPS employees as part of the partnership. This special offer begins Wednesday, December 20, 2017 and concludes on  Friday, February 2, 2018 (restrictions do apply.)

“As we continue to identify innovative ways to engage our students, we are very grateful for the opportunity to partner with Baranco Auto Motive and give back to a business in our community that supports our school system,” stated Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Morcease J. Beasley. “By establishing relationships within our community, we not only bolster our communal economy but increase the number of opportunities for our students to be college and career ready as well as successful contributors to society.”

As part of the partnership, scholars will be able to conduct oil changes and learn various details of the automotive industry while working with Baranco Auto Motive as paid student apprentices.

“This is an outstanding opportunity for our students as we continue to establish Clayton County Public Schools as a talent pipeline for businesses as well as create ideal applicants for skilled trades,” said Dr. Eboni Chillis, CCPS CTAE Coordinator. “We understand our influence as well as our ability to establish positive relationships with businesses and its impact on the potential growth of the entire county. As we continue to actively seek partnerships, we know there’s no limit for the things we can accomplish within our community for our students,” she added.
