Scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 17, at Mundy’s Mill High School, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. the expo is an opportunity to engage, inspire and STEMulate students, parents, teachers, businesses and the community with free activities, food and fun! In addition, the event will highlight future Career, Technical & Agricultural Education (CTAE) and STEM careers, products, experiences and the life skills that are vital for students to be college, career, workforce and life ready!

“We believe that STEMulating your future begins early and we are excited to have Romanieo Nicholas Golphin, Jr., as our guest speaker,” said Dr. Eboni Chillis, CTAE Coordinator. “We really want to give our students STEM experiences to activate interest and authentic learning in STEM and Romanieo Jr. embodies the statement, “Think Big. Start Early.”

1Profiled as one of three “Boys Changing The World” by NBC, eight-year-old Romanieo Jr., has received invitations to three of the world's top scientific and research facilities; NASA, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (US Nuclear Fusion program), and CERN (the European organization for nuclear research) in Geneva, Switzerland where he was named an Ambassador.  He has captured the attention of over 13.5 million households with his enthusiasm and passion for science and the arts. Romanieo Jr. has been profiled in a two-page article in the Washington Post and received invitations to appear on major network television shows, like NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where he assisted Dwayne The Rock Johnson as a science expert and (with special clearance from NASA) ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Show.

Romanieo has also been recognized for his intellect and advanced study in particle physics and organic chemistry. He’s been invited to Duke University, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Morehouse College.

“We are extremely privileged to have Romanieo Golphin, Jr. as a guest presenter at our STEM Expo,” said Dr. Morcease J. Beasley, CCPS Superintendent of Schools. “It is quite remarkable that this young man embodies the true spirit of STEM at such an early age, elevating his thinking and reasoning skills to the level many college graduates would envy.”  

“It is our hope that Romanieo will, through his interaction with our students and their families, create a level of excitement and wonder for learning that will spread throughout the STEM Expo and beyond,” he added. “Please, join us on March 17th and be amazed as we STEMulate your future!”
