Clayton County Public Schools is excited to announce that the Babb Middle School Dance Dawgs, representing Forest Park, GA, has been selected to perform at the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida, on December 31, 2024.

The Dance Dawgs earned this prestigious opportunity as trophy winners at Universal Dance Association (UDA) summer camps, one of the many brands under the Varsity Spirit umbrella. Other performers include top teams from the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), National Dance Alliance (NDA), and Urban Cheerleading Experience (UCE).

Led by Ms. Melissa Colon, the team members attending are 8th grader students: Syliney Toro, Maya Rivera, Isabella Macias, Andrea Sosa, and Genesis Carachure. They will travel together to Orlando for a week of rehearsals, preparing for their Citrus Bowl halftime performance in front of a live audience of 60,000 fans at the Camping World Stadium.

The Citrus Bowl, a cherished college football tradition since 1947, is the seventh-oldest collegiate bowl game in the country. This event offers cheerleaders and dancers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their talents on a national stage while also enjoying the excitement of Universal Studios Orlando.
