Here's What's Happening
Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is excited to announce the return of Summer Market Wednesdays, a free, customer-friendly grocery and resource experience open to all CCPS students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
Hosted by the Department of Student Services & Strategic Improvement’s Community Schools Team and School Social Workers, this summer initiative will provide families with access to fresh produce, frozen and microwavable meals, and various shelf-stable goods—all at no cost. Markets will be held on select Wednesdays in June and July at four of the District’s Community School Hubs.
This effort is made possible through valued partnerships with Helping Hands Ending Hunger, the Community Teen Coalition, and other organizations working together to combat food insecurity in Clayton County. Each market will offer groceries and connections to vital resources in wellness, healthcare, housing, and more.
“This initiative goes beyond food,” said Dr. Angela Horrison-Collier, CCPS Student Services Director. “It’s about allowing families to access what they need most in one place—from groceries to health screenings to community support.”
Families are encouraged to register in advance for their shopping experience by scanning the QR Code available on the event flyer or visiting the CCPS website.
