Here's What's Happening

Updated

Clayton County Public Schools is proud to recognize Exceptional Children’s Week from April 12–18, 2026! This special week celebrates the unique gifts, talents, and contributions of students with disabilities while promoting awareness, inclusion, and advocacy across our entire school community.

This year’s theme is “Turn the Page to Possibility: Literacy Success in Special Education.” Throughout the week, schools across all grade levels will participate in themed activities, daily dress-up events, and engaging conversations highlighting exceptional learners' strengths. See the attached flyer for more information.

We look forward to a week of celebration, education, and unity. Thank you for your continued support in helping us build futures by embracing every student’s potential. For more information, please contact the Department of Exceptional Students at des@clayton.k12.ga.us.

Special Highlight: Exceptional Students' Prom

This year, we are also excited to host the third annual Exceptional Prom Experience for high school students with low-incidence disabilities—a joyful, inclusive celebration created just for them. More details will be shared directly with the families of participating students in 11th and 12th grade.
