Here's What's Happening
Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) leadership, following a comprehensive review of facility readiness and transportation conditions, confirms that all schools and offices will operate on a normal schedule for students and staff on Monday, February 2, 2026.
It should be noted that the National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting that wintry weather will still impact the early morning hours on Monday with temperatures ranging in the low to mid 20’s. These conditions will be in effect while students are walking to school and waiting for their bus stops.
Students and their families, as well as CCPS employees, are encouraged to take appropriate precautions. Temperatures are expected to be cold enough to threaten unprotected or non-winterized plumbing. Vehicles should be checked for proper levels of anti-freeze.
Proper Attire at the Bus Stop/Walking to School
When temperatures and wind chill approach the teens and single digits, CCPS encourages our students, their families, and our employees to dress appropriately to remain warm and comfortable throughout the school day. Please ensure your child is dressed in layers, including:
-
Warm, insulated jackets or coats
-
Hats that cover the ears
-
Scarves to protect the neck
-
Gloves or mittens
-
Thermal or wool socks
-
Layers underneath (e.g., sweaters, thermal shirts, long-sleeved t-shirts)
-
Sturdy, waterproof boots to prevent cold and wet feet
Download Edulog to Track Your Child’s Bus
CCPS Leadership strongly encourages our students and their families to download the Education Logistics (Edulog) Parent Portal on their Smartphones. This application allows parents/guardians and their children to track their child’s bus to and from his or her school in real-time. Users can also receive critical updates regarding transportation statuses and more.
