Here's What's Happening

The Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) Construction Department invites students, staff, families, and community members to take part in a special milestone for the Convocation Center. Help us make history by signing a commemorative beam that will be installed in the new facility. Doing so will leave your mark for generations to come. Please bring a large-tip permanent ink marker for signing.

In addition, we welcome you to contribute a small item for a community time capsule, preserving today’s memories for tomorrow’s students and their families. Please ensure all items fit within a sealed one-gallon Ziploc bag or smaller. The capsule will be sealed and placed somewhere within the Convocation Center and will be opened in 25 years, offering future generations a glimpse into our present-day legacy.

Both the beam and the times capsule will be on display, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through June 13, 2025, at the Southlake Administrative Complex, 6635 Lake Drive in Morrow (adjacent to the Convocation Center construction site at Southlake Mall).
