Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is excited to announce the launch of CCPS…Where Literacy Lives, a districtwide initiative designed to promote literacy as a foundational skill and a way of life that extends beyond the classroom and into the homes and communities of Clayton County.

As part of this initiative, Clayton County Public Schools proudly introduces the “Books and…” series—an engaging read-aloud experience featuring voices from across the district and community. The series launches with Clayton County Board of Education Member Jasmine Bowles (District 1) and will continue with all Board Members in district order. In the inaugural episode, Ms. Bowles reads Maybe Just Ask Me by Katie Mazeika, highlighting the importance of reading and representation through storytelling.

Each segment within the series is paired with a Community Connection Activity, designed to extend learning beyond the screen and into the home. These activities encourage families to read, engage in meaningful conversations, and apply literacy skills together, supporting the development of oral language, vocabulary, and comprehension in authentic and interactive ways.
